Which personal data do we process?

Depending on how you come into contact with us, we may process the following data:

  • When you make a booking: your name, telephone number, email address, number of people, date and time and any comments or dietary requirements.
  • When you contact us (by telephone, email or the contact form): your name, contact details and the content of your message.
  • When you sign up for the newsletter: your email address.
  • When you apply for a job: your name, contact details and the information you share with us yourself (such as your CV and covering letter).
  • When you visit our website: technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device and browsing behaviour on the site (through cookies and analytical services).

Why and on what legal basis do we process your data?

We only process your data for clear purposes and on the basis of a valid legal basis under the GDPR:

  • To process and confirm your booking, which is necessary for the performance of the contract.
  • To answer your question or message, on the basis of our legitimate interest in serving you well.
  • To deal with your job application, on the basis of your consent and our legitimate interest.
  • To send our newsletter, solely on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • To improve and secure our website, on the basis of our legitimate interest and, where required, your consent for cookies.

Cookies and third-party services

Our website uses cookies and services provided by other parties. The most important ones:

  • Bookings (Tebi): for booking a table online we use the booking widget from Tebi. The data you enter is processed in order to handle your booking.
  • Google Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website, so that we can improve the site. This measurement only starts once you have given your consent for it. If you do not give consent, or if you choose ‘Rather not’, the measurement code is not loaded and nothing is sent to Google.
  • Newsletter (Mailchimp): to send our newsletter we use an email marketing service. Your email address is stored for this purpose for as long as you are subscribed.
  • Social media (Instagram and Facebook): our website may contain links to or content from social media. The privacy policy of the party concerned applies to the use of those platforms.

Your choice regarding cookies

On your first visit we ask whether we may look over your shoulder. If you say no, nothing happens: analytical cookies are then not placed. We do place cookies that are necessary to make the site work, such as those of the booking module — without them you cannot book a table.

We remember your choice on your own device, so that we do not have to ask again on every visit. Would you like to change your choice? You can do so at any time through Cookie preferences at the bottom of every page. In addition, you can manage or delete cookies yourself through your browser settings.

Sharing with third parties

We never sell your data to third parties. We only share your data with parties that help us provide our services (such as our booking, email and website suppliers), or when we are legally obliged to do so. Where necessary we conclude a data processing agreement with these parties, so that your data is properly protected with them too.

How long do we keep your data?

We do not keep your data for longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or for as long as we are legally obliged to do so. We keep booking data for a short time after your visit, we delete job application data no later than four weeks after the end of the procedure (unless you give consent to keep it for longer), and we keep your newsletter subscription until you unsubscribe.

How do we protect your data?

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss or unlawful use. If you nevertheless have the impression that your data is not properly secured, or there are signs of misuse, please contact us at info@restaurantpluis.nl.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights:

  • The right of access to the data we hold about you.
  • The right to rectification of incorrect data.
  • The right to erasure of your data.
  • The right to restriction of the processing.
  • The right to object to the processing.
  • The right to data portability.
  • The right to withdraw consent you have already given.

Would you like to exercise one of these rights? Then send an email to info@restaurantpluis.nl. We will respond as soon as possible, within four weeks at the latest.

Submitting a complaint

If you do not agree with the way we handle your data, we would like to hear about it. In addition, you always have the right to submit a complaint to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) via autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

We may amend this privacy statement from time to time. You will always find the most up-to-date version on this page. In the event of important changes we will inform you where necessary.
